Flamingo Tri-fold Shutter

Here's one of the cards we made at my last stamp club's meeting. It's quite bright, but really fun and cheery! Everyone loved it! I think the Pink Flamingo paper is so cute! I'm really glad it didn't retire and that we got a chance to use it!

Rooster Card

Got a little chance to stamp yesterday - and I finally got to use Rustic Rooster. I've been saving this gingham print designer paper to use with him - I thought it would go perfectly. Got this card sketch from someone on Splitcoast. I used the masking technique with the background and the rooster.

So, it's only been five MONTHS since my last update! . . .

I'm a little embarrassed . . . I guess I'm a bad blogger!

Anyway, here's a cute card I made the other day for my nieces birthday.
I think the Sweet Always paper is just adorable - love the brown and pink!

A little fun with Tyler

Tyler and I had a little fun this evening - we've been planning to make these for his class for a while and finally did it! So, here's a sample! I'll have to finish them up this evening - it's a lot of work for a pre-schooler, but he really enjoyed it and was very proud of himself. I let him use the Big Shot to cut out the Top Note die and also the Scallop Circle #2. He cranked them right out and loved it! =) True to form, his main worry was whether or not he would get one too and whether there would be enough candy corn.

The eyes are made using the 1" circle punch for the chocolate chip, and the 3/4" circle punch for the white. The black part of the eyes could be made using the 1/4" punch, but to keep it easy for pre-school hands, we just used a black marker. The beak is made using the small oval punch and folding it in half.

The back of the owl head is attached to the cello bag using sticky strip and the front is attached using one-quarter of a velcro dot, so that it can be opened and re-closed.

Of course, as I am Queen of the CASE, I did not think of this myself! There are many of these all over Splitcoaststampers, but in particular, I loved the look of this one by madamcasealot.

Happy Stamping!

Just a quick card

Just thought I'd quickly share this card I made for my demonstrator group swap. It uses the Roof Garden Accents & Elements tin. I never would have thought of this color combo myself - but it is really pretty. Very soothing, I think. I also used the Chit Chat rub-ons for the sentiment, so each card was slightly different. I do love the white rub-on sentiments though - they show up really well.

Paper - Basic Grey, Baja Breeze
Roof Garden Accents & Elements, double-sided Kiwi satin ribbon, Chit Chat rub-ons, paper piercing template, distressing tool, dimensionals

Finally!

This blog update is way overdue! My goodness - it's been over a month! I know the start-up of school is always busy for everyone. We've settled in to our routines around our here and I've finally received my first new catalog order! I had a chance yesterday to make a few things and thought I would share.

This first card below is made using the new Wow Flower stamp sets and also features one of the new In Colors - Tangerine Tango. It is a fabulously yummy color! In this card, I've used it with Apricot and Celery. We made this card at my new catalog open house a few weeks ago. You may also notice the scallop trim at the bottom of the card. This was made using the new scallop edge punch. I just LOVE this punch. There are some really cute things you can do with it besides what I've done on this card.

Stamps: Wow Flowers
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Celery brad, 5/8" celery grosgrain, scallop edge punch, 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" circle punches, dimensionals

This next card is a simplified variation on a card made by Lisa Hoekstra. It uses the Level 3 hostess set - Seasonal Icons and features several other new In Colors. I think this is such a neat hostess set! It includes a cute little stamp set, designer paper and rub-ons to fit almost any holiday!

Stamps: Seasonal Icons
Paper: Baja Breeze, DP from Seasonal Icons hostess gift, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Accessories: 1", 1-1/4", 1-3/8" circle punches, scallop circle punch, dimensionals

And lastly, I thought I'd share this super cute "Bag in a Box". You can find a tutorial for how to make these darling bags on Diana Gibb's blog - Stampin' With Di. These little totes are super easy to make and lots of fun! They'd be perfect for a small gift. The one I've made below also features paper from the Seasonal Icons hostess set (it was already out on the table!). The flower image in the middle is from the set Eastern Blooms. This is one of the sets that is on sale for 15% off this month. It was on my must-have list for sure!
